How is the story of Easter similar to what we are experiencing during this pandemic?

This year Easter is quiet. However, the real meaning of Easter remains unchanged. Easter is celebrated because of Jesus' resurrection from the dead after he sacrifices his life on Good Friday. For most of us, these two days are just holidays, but Easter is highly relevant to the current COVID19 situation. How? Let's find out.
If you are from a country familiar with crime, then you know, only after an innocent person dies, people start talking about it and authorities do something about it. We experience a heightened state of fear, guilt and hate and want to avenge this innocent's death and have the offender punished. So people come together and unite for candlelight marches or protest until some form of justice is served. And in this way, the sacrifice of one innocent person's life puts an end to one evil person's doings. Peace is restored.
The Easter story is spiritually more complicated but on the surface, it is similar to the ones above. Jesus died, defeated sin and death and resurrected. It's a story of good conquering over evil, but most importantly, it's a story of HOPE.
The virus has taken away many innocent lives from us. It is the new evil, an evil (I believe) in some way man has brought upon itself, maybe by accident or maybe on purpose - facts are unknown. This virus has opened our eyes to the evil within all humankind; the collective sin we share of considering our species superior and entitled. It is time we defeat the feelings of power and stop feeling invincible due to all the technology and money around us. With every innocent death, let us kill the ego within us little by little and replace it with humility.
Today is the day to celebrate Hope. Some of us have lost our loved ones, for most, it is our jobs, our money and time that we have lost. But let us remember to stay Hopeful for the future. We can spread love and support each other while we prepare to restart.

With this message, I wish you all a very Happy Easter and Resurrection Sunday. Keep Hope alive in you and spread it around. We will soon be free.
